But I'm not the only one! I happen to have some pretty dreamy friends trying to make some truly great stuff happen. And that takes money! Man, I sound cynical. But I'm helping! Please check out the following worthy projects currently being campaigned, with small contributions by me:

The Sequential Artists Workshop

Support this subtropical sketch paradise for another year through SAW's 2013 school year fundraiser. Truly an educational gem, SAW is a magical school of storytelling, boundary-breaking, and iconoclasm. They're selling original art and prints by a bunch of artists over on their Etsy support store, including these "humans of the sea" by me:

And also, super excited about this print of my wild and crazy Early Times Lady from the front endpapers of Make Me a Woman:

Another project I am excited about is The Big Feminist BUT, a comics collection of stories exploring feminism TODAY, Monday, December 17, 2012. Well, maybe not just today but this isn't yesterday's feminism, folks! With 6 days left to go, Joan and Shannon are in the home stretch of getting this baby together. They have a bunch of supporter incentive gifts, including several original drawings of "buts." My contributions include "Beetle Butt":

My advice largely included a tip about getting a waterproof notepad for the shower.

For you noseys: The scrawlings pictured here include wanting to figure out a way to make reality TV producers pay their debt to society through some kind of personality rehabilitation programming. Because people THINK they're watching reality TV to make fun of the people on it. But they really just end up acting like the people on it. RIGHT!?!?? And I am probably going to write about twee rockers for that book I'm working on.

(Another tip, while I'm at it: Keep your body-sloughing brush on the far end of the shower to prevent it from getting gross. I used to keep it on the hook on my shower caddy, under the shower head, and boy, were those some dark days.)
